A new era in aviation data collection is being launched. On May 18, 2022, the Data Collection Service (DCS) will go live!
With the increasing digitalization and the high demands on data quality, the swiss FOCA decided some time ago to modernize the aviation data process. A service based on a modern Internet platform was established for this purpose. The service and the DCS-Portal allows the digital delivery and seamless handling of aeronautical data such as aeronautical obstacles.
The service is operated by ITV Consult.
The official information from FOCA can be found here.

ITV has established an online AIM Data Catalogue based on the ICAO PANS-AIM Appendix 1 to facilitate its usage by civil aviation authorities, air navigation service providers and data originators in the process to implement a fully data-centric AIM environment. Furthermore, we have included a mapping of the data elements to the current version of AIXM 5.1(1) which has been initially developed by EUROCONTROL and further maintained by the AIXM Community.
You can find the ICAO AIM Data Catalogue here: https://www.datacat.aero
ITV supports customers to tailor the Aeronautical Data Catalogue to the requirements of your State. This can include extending the data catalogue with national requirements (e.g., CIV, MIL, VFR) as well as determining the associated national data quality requirements.
You will find a description of the services we offer here.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to discuss any questions you have related to your specific needs so that you can successfully start moving forward towards implementing the digital data chain.

On 25th and 26th May 2021 ITV Consult participated at the Virtual Global AIM 2021 (ifaima.org). Due to the COVID-19 situation this conference was held as a virtual event only. We would like to express our gratitude to IFAIMA for organizing and performing this event under the current circumstances. The special circumstances of this virtual event led to discussions between three industry partners (A4F, GroupEAD and ITV Consult) to discuss how we could provide more value from industry to ANSPs, CAAs, Data Originators and others in this difficult period. In our discussions we developed the idea of giving a strategic overview of the developments in the aeronautical information industry based on the ICAO ASBU developments. Our goal is to allow all affected aeronautical information parties in their State to determine the current status of development and recognize what still needs to be done in future. This should help decision makers to better understand the current developments in their State. Don’t hesitate to agree an appointment with us to discuss your specific situation and the way forward.
You can find our presentation here.

Aviation is realizing that trusted up-to-date aeronautical information is essential for managing operations in a reliable manner. It is an opportunity to look at current technology developments supporting this need.
Blockchain as a rapidly emerging technology has not been on the radar of AIM so far. It could have the potential to support the increasing need of aviation stakeholders to rely on trusted aeronautical information. Furthermore, in the long run this blockchain technology could even facilitate the availability of trusted near real-time information.
